Another Signing - No Official Word Yet

Everton have apparently, in almost total secrecy, secured the services of 17-year-old defender Shkodran Mustafi from HSV. HSV staff seem to consider him amongst their greatest talents and are sad he's off. Apparently, he's excellent on Football Manager 09, but I wouldn't know about that sort of thing...

Early Action - A Nice Change.

Anton Peterlin is our first signing of the summer, and will be joining up with the squad when we head over to the States for some pre-season games.

He's a 22-year-old American with Danish and Slovenian parentage, and plays in defensive midfield. He holds a Danish passport so doesn't have to go through the work permit red tape obstacle course.

He's effectively from the fourth division of American footy and didn't impress the MLS teams he's already trialled with. Make of that what you will, but he's got to be costing us next to nothing.

Moyes could have pulled another one out of the hat.

Nice article from the lad's local paper here:

Glaring errors, notable absentees and a bit gushing in places, but it's always nice to be reminded of some of Everton's greats.
